'I haven't really had much to do with my life, I just took part in it'
Hurricane Higgins has died at age 61 of Throat Cancer proving everyone wrong that he would be extinguished at an early age. The question is was it a release for him to shuffle off this mortal coil or did his arrogance and self importance make him want to carry on longer? One biographer claimed that on his good days he wanted to come back to snooker and join the Senior tournament. Pipe dreams for someone that could not cope at the height of his fame that he had to go back from whence he came.
He could be found at pubs charging £10.00 a game for a round in Manchester and more recently in Belfast. He died at a Hostel for the Homeless with only the voices in his head for company. The main question is when did Higgins lose his drive to achieve and how?
